The purpose of the citadel was to stop the advance of Eastern peoples such as the Chiriguanos and others from the Amazon towards the fertile valleys of Pocona and further west, of Cochabamba. With dimensions of 80 hectares, Inkallajta was the largest citadel of the Inca empire in the entire province of Collasuyo. It has a monumental architecture as well as the Kallanka structure, imposing construction of 26 x 78 meters high, being the largest structure of a single ship in all pre-Columbian America.
There are also buildings built in a special way, delimited by deep ravines that confers a strategic characteristic for defense. It also has large courtyards and squares surrounded by walls and buildings that lead to open spaces.
Later you will visit the Pocona Canton while tasting the box lunch, the Canton is about 14 km from Inkallajta, was founded in the seventh century being a very quiet place, friendly people who offer accommodation and food to visitors.
