Day 1: Private transfer from the airport and visit La Paz city.

Visit the Colonial Jaén Street, one of the best-preserved colonial streets in the city. The tour continues to Murillo Square, where the Cathedral, Government Palace, and National Congress are located. A visit to the Witches’ Market offers a fascinating window into the secret world of Andean mysticism. Later, a visit to the typical Rodríguez market, the largest food market in La Paz, showcases a variety of colorful products sold by local women. A must-see in La Paz is the cable car ride for fantastic views. To finish the tour, visit the spectacular Moon Valley, featuring strange geological formations.

Day 2: Early transfer from La Paz city to the Copacabana Sanctuary. Guided visit to the main sanctuary and pilgrimage center of Bolivia, including the Basilica where the Virgin of Copacabana, the patron saint of Bolivians, is located. Afterwards, board the Catamaran Cruise to navigate to Sun Island, the birthplace of the Inca Empire. On this legendary island, visit the Garden, Stairs, and Inca Fountain. The guided itinerary continues with a visit to the Inti Wata Cultural Complex, Bolivia’s main private tourist attraction, accessible only to tourists visiting Sun Island aboard the catamarans. This includes the Ekako Underground Museum, Traditional Medicine and Totora Raft Construction Centers, an artisan center, the Intica shelter, an Inca agriculture botanical garden, and a variety of Andean camelids. Later, return to the catamaran to enjoy lunch on board on route to Copacabana. Finally, transfer back to La Paz city.

Day 3: Pick up from the hotel and visit the capital of an ancient civilization, Tiwanaku, located just 72 km from the city of La Paz. During its heyday, Tiwanaku was the main ceremonial center and the cradle of Andean culture. These pre-Inca ruins have sparked a series of archaeological debates that continue today. According to Carbon-14 dating, the emergence of this culture dates back to around 1580 BC. On this visit, you can explore the Kalasasaya Temple (of the Sun), with the enigmatic and famous “Gate of the Sun” inside, the Semi-subterranean Temple, and the Akapana Pyramid. Visit Puma Punku Temple, whose name means “Gate of the Puma,” this complex consists of volcanic rock blocks, some reaching 7 meters in height and weighing over 100 tons. These wonderfully carved stones baffle experts as the advanced tools used to create the perfect angles, circles, millimeter-precise lines, and completely smooth surfaces remain unknown. Finally, visit the local museum, which houses an impressive collection of objects and instruments from civilizations predating the Inca culture. Return to La Paz city.

Day 4: Pick up from hotel and transfer to La Paz airport. Flight La Paz – Uyuni (air ticket not included) then, pick up from the airport. Departure to Uyuni Salt Flats to visit the Train Cemetery and Colchani town, where you can observe the process of hand-extracted salt and local salt crafts. Visit Playa Blanca, a salt museum; salt eyes, which are interesting due to the underground water points of the salt flat; salt hexagons, geometric shapes on the salt flat surface, salt mounds, and crossing the salt flat to enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Picnic lunch. Continue the visit to Incahuasi Island. This island is located in the heart of the salt flat and is the largest of a group of islands representing an isolated ecosystem. The island is populated by cacti that reach up to 12 meters high, offering an impressive panorama of the area. Enjoy the sunset and later transfer to the hotel.

Day 5: Visit the northern part of Uyuni Salt Falts where we will visit the Coquesa Mummies, human archaeological remains in a small cave near the Tunupa Volcano, from that point we can observe the vastness and beauty of the salt flats. Visit the Chiquini Cave, a circular and humid cave where you can observe impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. Lunch at a restaurant or picnic. From April to November, the dry season, the salt flats’ surface offers the opportunity to play with photography and perspective. Return to the salt hotel.
