The clients, when contracting the services of Transturin, declare to know and accept the present general conditions, the same ones that will be applied when contracting the services of Transturin directly or by any intermediary, since the first contact to the confirmation on written, both for the services provided directly by the Company or services provided by third parties, and for no reason this can be ignored, rejected or objected based on lack of knowledge.
QUOTES AND RESERVATIONS
- Quotes for services do not imply a reservation, until they are expressly requested and therefore confirmed by Transturin.
- All services reservations must be made directly to Transturin (La Paz central office) in written form. The confirmation of these services, by Transturin, must also be in written form attaching these general conditions.
RATES
- The confirmation of services constitutes a contract therefore it will be an instrument of collection of the transaction made by the direct consumer or intermediary with Transturin.
- All rates sent by Transturin are expressed in USD (American Dollars)
- Rates may be subject to modification by Transturin, even though there is a written confirmation, for the following reasons:
a) Government alteration regarding the price of fuel in Bolivia; taxes related to the services quoted; monetary exchange rate in Bolivia, increase in the rates of any entrance fee charged for the attractions.
b) Exceptional and justified increase in the rates of suppliers involved in the services.
CATAMARAN SERVICE
CANCELLATION POLICIES
For FITs or individual passengers (01 – 10 pax)
30% will be charged if the cancellation is received less than 5 days before the service starts.
100% will be charged if the cancellation is received within 48 hours before the service starts.
For groups (11pax – up)
50% will be charged if the cancellation is received within 10 to 7 days before the service starts.
100% will be charged if the cancellation is received less than 6 days before the service starts.
PAYMENT POLICY
Catamaran services for individual passengers’ 01 – 10 pax, must be paid 10 days before the service starts. Reservations confirmed within 10 days before the service starts, the payment must be effective within 48 hours after the reservation is confirmed, always before the service starts.
If this condition is not met, the service will not be operated.
Catamaran services for Groups 11 pax – up, must be paid 20 days before the service starts. Reservations confirmed within 20 days before the service starts, the payment must be effective within 48 hours after the reservation is confirmed, always before the service starts
If this condition is not met, the service will not be operated.
SERVICES IN UYUNI
CANCELLATION POLICIES LOW SEASON (April 16th to December 14th)
For private services
Land Services: 8 days before the service starts departure without charge. Within 7 to 0 days before the service starts, 100% of the fare will be charged.
For share services
Land Services: 2 days before the service starts departure without charge. Within 1 to 0 days before the service starts, 100% of the fare will be charged.
The route and tours from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni in SIC service 11 days before the service starts departure without charge. Within 10 to 0 days before the service starts, 100% of the fare will be charged.
Salt hotels – penalties will be applied according to the policies of each Salt hotel.

For private services
Land Services: 16 days before the service starts without charge. Within 15 to 0 days before the service starts, 100% penalty will be charged.
For share services
Land Services: 2 days before the service starts departure without charge. Within 1 to 0 days before the service starts, 100% of the fare will be charged.
The route and tours from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni in SIC service 11 days before the service starts departure without charge. Within 10 to 0 days before the service starts, 100% of the fare will be charged.

SERVICES IN LA PAZ AND THE REST OF BOLIVIA
CANCELLATION CONDITIONS
For cancellations of local services in La Paz and the rest of Bolivia, the following policies will be applied:
FITs or individual passengers: If the cancellation is made 3 days before the service starts, a 100% penalty of the rate will be charged.
For Groups: If the cancellation is made 6 days before the service starts a 100% of the fee will be charged.
PAYMENT POLICIES
FITs or individual passenger (01 – 15 pax), payment must be effective 10 days before the service starts.
For the reservations confirmed 10 days before the service starts, the payment must be effective within the next 48 hours after the confirmation.
If this condition is not met, the service will not be operated.
For groups (16 pax -up), the payment must be effective 20 days before the service starts, for the reservations confirmed less than 20 days before the service starts, the payment must be effective within the next 48 hours after the confirmation, always before the service starts.
If this condition is not met, the service will not be operated.
FREE OF CHARGE POLICIES
–In Catamaran and La Paz services, 10 passengers paid, 1 will be free of charges. Maximum of 3 free of charge passengers for each reservation or group.
–In Uyuni and the rest of Bolivia, those freed of charge, are variable according to the express policies of the suppliers and hotels.
INFANTS AND CHILDREN POLICIES
-Infants will be considered from 0 to 1 year and 11 months: In Catamaran services they travel free of charge (meals, bed, or seat on buses are not included).
-Children will be considered with a special rate from 02 to 08 years with 11 months. In Catamaran services they will only be charged with half of the rate.
-Children from 9 years old must pay full rate.
DOCUMENTS, VISAS AND VACCINATIONS
-During the trip, all passengers must be in possession of a valid document such as a passport or ID card.
-It is the obligation of each passenger to be informed regarding the requirement of visas, vaccines, or any other type of documentation required by the competent authority.
– It is not Transturin responsibility to inform about the entrance or exit requirements of Bolivia, if it is not with an express written consultation.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Breakfast: This service is normally provided between 07:00 to 10:00 am depending on the policies of each hotel.
If the passenger departure was before these specific hours, this benefit will be lost without the right to compensation. The breakfast room service or box breakfast will have and additional charge.
LIABILITY
– Transturin reserves the right to change itineraries, schedules, hotels or others that appear in the confirmation of services in the event of unpredictable happenings such as: blockades, wars, civil disturbances, riots, terrorist acts, epidemics, quarantines, and adverse weather conditions such as winds, closing or cutting traffic on roads, snowfall, storms, municipal or national provisions. If there is an additional cost for the modification of the itinerary, it must be assumed by the passenger or client. Transturin will not be held responsible for damages and / or delays in its itineraries and others.
– If due to any circumstance of force majeure that escapes company control the CATAMARAN service were suspended, the company will proceed as follows:
- a) Return to the point where the service started and refund with a 100%
- b) 30% reimbursement for change of route and itinerary.
INSURANCE
– Transturin passengers are covered by an accident insurance policy during the provision of their services. The insurance amounts ascents to a maximum coverage of USD. 10,000. In case of accidental death or permanent disability and USD. 5,000. for medical expenses due to accidents. Any additional amount must be covered by the passenger, their travel insurance or other insurance contracted directly by the passenger or intermediary agents. Transturin will not accept any claims on amounts higher than those stipulated and accepted by the passenger or agent at the time of confirming their reservations. Unable to object due to any lack of knowledge on regard of these general conditions
– The insurance policy covers passengers under 70 years old, therefore, customers over 70 years old must have personal insurance against accidents and others.
– Any adventure sports service or service that involves any kind of risk beyond reasonable, does not have insurance coverage, so Transturin disclaims any responsibility in this regard.
– Transturin will be responsible for all luggage consigned in the warehouse during our services in case of: a) Loss or total damage (luggage and contents) of the luggage will have a maximum responsibility of USD 700. for each one b) Partial damage such as breakage of any part, wheels, supports, pockets and other accessories, the repairs will be covered by the company. c) All hand luggage or personal effects are exclusive responsibility of the passengers, disclaiming any responsibility to Transturin.
Jurisdiction
– Any kind of controversy, legal dispute, complaint or claim, before, during or after the provision of the services performed by Transturin and / or its suppliers, will be subject solely and exclusively to the jurisdiction and legislation of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
According to the regulations stipulated in these general conditions which become a contract of strict compliance between parties and are non-appealable contractual instruments.
